Event Participation Agreement FAQ

NEW IN 2006:

Awana Clubs International has recently finalized a new Participation Agreement that supplements the Awana Ministry Agreement signed each year with the registration fee. This agreement is required to be signed before participating in any and all approved event sponsored by an Awana Missionary but only needs to be signed by the church one time (however, if a church should drop its Awana ministry and then re-register later, it would be required to complete a new Participation Agreement).

Here are several anticipated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) related to this new agreement:

QUESTION:What are the guidelines referred to in the document?

ANSWER: The guidelines are presented in the Rulebook for each event as well as any other rules or policies the missionary may present to churches in the registration process. For example, a missionary may communicate a specific dress code for an event.

QUESTION:Who is an authorized signor?

ANSWER:This is really dependent on the church to determine. However, the club commander or pastor is probably sufficient.

QUESTION:What do I do with these forms?

ANSWER:The Event Participation Agreements needs to be sent to

they will be later sent to the Risk Management Dept. for storage with permanent records.

QUESTION:Do I need an original signature?

ANSWER:No, a faxed signature is sufficient.

QUESTION:Why can’t this be included in the Ministry Agreement registration and renewal process?

ANSWER:Because it would not apply to churches which do not participate in events. Also, churches renewing their registration are not required to sign the Ministry Agreement.
